My therapeutic approach
Integrative psychotherapy is a type of therapy that combines techniques and theories from different schools of psychotherapy, with the aim of tailoring treatment to your individual needs. The approach
involves drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and work towards healing and personal growth.
Some of the tools I use in therapy are:
- Mindfulness
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) tools
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools
- Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) tools
- Internal family systems

How therapy with me works
Therapy always begins with an initial assessment. During this time, I’ll ask you a range of questions to build a clear and detailed picture of what you’ve been experiencing, what challenges you’re facing, and how they affect your life. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of the patterns that contribute to these difficulties, and most importantly, to explore how we can begin to interrupt unhelpful cycles and create meaningful change.
Following the assessment, we will develop working ideas (hypotheses) about the factors that may be influencing your difficulties and how they interact. These ideas provide a foundation for where we begin to introduce and test new strategies together.
To support your progress, I work from a scientist–practitioner perspective. This means that we pay attention to the impact of any changes you make, using this feedback to refine our understanding and guide the direction of therapy. We’ll keep your personal goals at the center, and regularly check in to ensure we’re moving towards them. Each session is shaped by your needs and preferences so that our time together is focused and valuable.
Sessions last
50 minutes, and often include a piece of reflective or practical work for you to continue between meetings, helping you to consolidate what we explore in therapy.
